If memory serves me correctly, this photo shoot was done in the summer/fall time-frame of 2011. Several folks in my work group were asked to be a part of it as the careers portion of our website was updated with new images and content, re-formatted and re-branded. Well today, I received notification that one of my photos went live on the site.
Kendall Parker is ALL about the tractor and the lawnmower right now. He thinks these things are pretty cool. I know another little boy that used to think so as well. Well, Kendall had his first ride on the lawnmower with daddy this afternoon and all we heard the rest of the evening were these little phrases:
Todd and I are dreaming of taking the boys on a summer vacation to the beach. Maybe someplace in Florida if we feel like we have the house renovation project in a manageable state. Anyhow, it got me thinking... about the first vacation Todd and I took together in the Fall of 2006. We went to Hatteras Island and rented this house, Airwaves 100, for a week. We walked on the beach, we fished (and we will never forget the one that got away), we enjoyed adult beverages for breakfast, we ate powdered donuts for dinner, we played endless games of backgammon... Now our vacations are very different with two boys in tow, but they are equally as fun! I"m off now. I have some searching to do on the VRBO website.
Okay, can I just brag for a moment? I am a proud momma! Upon picking Benjamin up from school today, his teacher informed me that he read two books all by himself today. I'm to understand one was a riveting story about a fat cat. As my Aunt Penny would say, he's obviously a "smart little cookie."
Benjamin, recently on the drive home, wanted to look at my Lilly ID badge. After close inspection, he asked "who's your friend, mommy?" I had to explain it was my badge for work and that it was a picture of me. He thought about it a little more and asked "was this before you were a mommy?" Obviously this is not the mommy he knows. This is the only documented proof of my short haircut. Upon cutting my hair, I immediately started growing it out. Which is probably a good thing. When Todd first saw the badge, his question was "why would you ever do that?" He may not have been interested in this girl...
Can you believe it?? Kendall Parker is officially two years old! We had a simple celebration at Deming Park with a picnic, a few gifts, and "grand" folks. The birthday boy thought the whole thing was fabulous.
So fun! What a day! Daddy, er, the Easter Bunny, hid 168 eggs. You read correctly - one hundred and sixty-eight eggs. (I"ll let that sink in for a moment...) With a little help, 167 eggs were found. We were unable to find #168. Treats galore were enjoyed by the happy hunters - Reese's Peanut Butter Cups, M&Ms, and one lucky hunter received a radish. I wonder if it came from Mr. McGregor's garden?
HERE is a photo of big brother's Easter around the same age. I dare you not to smile :)
Kendall and mommy went mushroom hunting and found three mushrooms. Kendall played more of a supporting role then actually hunting but it was fun tromping through the woods. Benjamin and daddy had their own adventure as they went fishing in a nearby watering hole. I imagine Team Sellers will have more success next year when we aren't all consumed with home renovations activities.
Last evening, two girl friends from work and I went to check out Super Bowl Village. WOW! It was fun to see all the activities and all the people. Here is how that JW Marriott display turned out - glitzy and impressive, right?? Super Bowl Village + 60 degree weather in January + good friends + cocktails = fun girls' night out even if I didn't get to zipline or meet Jimmy Fallon!
